Even More Tension
The third example of tension between the USA and USSR was the space race. Both countries were attempting to send sattelites to space at the beginning. The Soviet Union sent the Sputnik to space and officially became first country to send a satellite to space. Then, both countries strived toward sendin a man to the moon. Although the soviets won the first round, the Americans were the first to have a man on the moon. The space race brought even more tension to the Cold War.
More Cold War Tension
The second from of tension in the Cold War was the need to improve their nuclear warfare. America came out with the H-bomb in 1952. The Soviets came out with their own H-bomb just over a year later. Both nations were competing to make the best weapon they possibly could. With both nations possessing power of such an extremely detrimental weapon, the nations were equally intimidated by the other.

Tension Rises In The Cold War
The first example of tension rising in the cold war is the start of the Korean War. The Korean War began in the year of 1950. The war was between the communists in the north, led by Kim Il Sung, and the Nationalists in the south, led by Syngman Rhee. Although at one point the Nationalists were cornered, General MacArthur led a miracle counterattack to overcome the Communist forces.

Cold War Summary
The cold war was a war between friends who turned to enemies. The United States of America was former allies with the Soviet Union during world war two, but now due to their economic, political, military views the friends became enemies. The main cause of the cold war was the conflict of the two countries politics. The Soviet Union practiced Communism while America practiced Democracy. Another clash between the two was the fact that now the whole world new America was capable of producing the atomic bomb. The Cold War lasted from 1945 to 1989 officially. The only fighting that went on was civil wars in both Korea and China. I support the Americans beleifs and actions in this particular case.
